The Texas TANF/ Medicaid State Tax Refund is available to employers throughout the State of Texas.  This program provides a refund to employers who paid state franchise tax, sales tax, use tax, and various other state taxes.  It does not matter where in Texas your operations are located or where your employees live.

Qualifications. Your business qualifies for the TANF/ Medicaid State Tax Refund when you hire persons who received TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) or Medicaid benefits any time during the 6 months prior to hire.

How much?  This benefit is computed as a percentage of wages paid to qualifying employees, up to $2,000 per employee.
